Sta. Rosa City, Laguna – As part of its corporate social responsibility program, QSI employees spent the day with the Children of SOS Village at Enchanted Kingdom last November 17, 2018. The SOS Children’s Village is a non-profit organization that provides long-term, family-based care to children in need. The international foundation established by Herman Gmeiner in 1949 in Austria pioneered the family approach in helping children who have lost parental care. They also support and work with vulnerable families who are experiencing hardships that may lead to child neglect or abandonment.
Each child was given two employees to be their ‘uncle’ and ‘auntie’ for the day. After a hearty lunch, each group was given the whole afternoon to bond by riding amusement attractions, playing games and taking photos with mascots throughout the park. The children, ages 6-12 years olf, enjoyed the rides especially the Agila, Rio Grande Rapids and the Roller Skater. The day concluded with some light snacks and a gift giving portion.
Around 100 employees participated in the CSR program. The activity not only aims to give the children an unforgettable experience, but it also instilled the value of sharing one’s blessings to QSI employees.
